Exploring the power of games to drive social impact and economic growth in Africa.

The African continent is home to a young, dynamic population which is playing a key role in the expansion of the gaming industry.

Our mission is to shape the evolving landscape of African gaming and foster a community where games are leveraged for their potential to drive positive change.

Designed to harness youth interest in video games, the programme builds not only digital design skills, but problem-solving, collaboration, and systems thinking, while empowering young people to become active citizens and changemakers. Industry Initiatives

At Games for Change Africa, we care deeply about the future of the African games industry and its potential for impact. This report was created to better understand where the industry stands today, and where it could go.

Focusing on impact games, the report maps key opportunities and challenges, drawing from local insight and global research to inspire action, guide collaboration, and support the growth of a vibrant, purpose-driven games ecosystem across the continent.

Who we are

Established in 2021, G4C Africa is one of the leading chapters of the global non-profit Games for Change.

We strongly believe that games have the potential to do so much more than just entertain. With purposeful design, games can be catalysts for enhancing education, provoking positive social change and promoting economic growth across the African continent.
