The African continent is home to a young, dynamic population which is playing a key role in the expansion of the gaming industry.
Our mission is to shape the evolving landscape of African gaming and foster a community where games are leveraged for their potential to drive positive change.
Every year, we host the Games for Change Africa Festival that brings together social innovators and change-makers across sectors for a curated programme of talks, workshops, and networking opportunities. Since 2021, our Festival has been a destination for anyone who wants to imagine, inspire and ignite the future of social impact gaming and immersive media.

At Games for Change Africa, we care deeply about the future of the African games industry and its potential for impact. This report was created to better understand where the industry stands today, and where it could go.
Focusing on impact games, the report maps key opportunities and challenges, drawing from local insight and global research to inspire action, guide collaboration, and support the growth of a vibrant, purpose-driven games ecosystem across the continent.
We strongly believe that games have the potential to do so much more than just entertain. With purposeful design, games can be catalysts for enhancing education, provoking positive social change and promoting economic growth across the African continent.
Games for Change Africa is proud to have a dedicated team of accomplished professionals, and thought-leaders focused on inspiring others and pushing boundaries to explore how the world can use games and immersive media for social good.
